CROY and the BOYS // Sunny Fairly

Local outfit Croy and The Boys are a little bit country sway, a little bit honky-tonk and a whole lot of toe-tapping good times. Frontman Corey Baum hadn’t set foot outside of his hometown Bowling Green, Ohio until, at the age of 24, he realised college wasn’t his scene; so he packed up his guitar and hot-footed it to Austin. He spent four years writing and performing solo before kicking off Croy and The Boys back in 2014. - Georgina Cook

MOVING PANORAMAS // MIDCENTURY

Spacey but not alienating, loud yet still light, painting panoramic sound against a moving melodic backdrop, Moving Panoramas make dream rock from Austin, Texas.

It all began in Brooklyn, where songwriter Leslie Sisson lived while playing in a number of touring bands. She came back to her home state of Texas to be closer to her family after navigating through a series of life changing events. This led to an array of songs that shaped the birth of the band. The debut LP One, released on Modern Outsider Records in 2015, conjured a wave of dream gaze and international acclaim.

ANNABELLE CHAIRLEGS // JACK & the HACKS

"Annabelle Chairlegs plays out around town often, exuding polished, glitzy, Sixties-inspired rock & roll fleshed out by guitar licks straddling the line between surf-y and noir. Helmed by Mackin's strange, arresting voice, usually either a powerful belt or contorted into theatrical yelping, the band commands the stage with intense authority.” - Libby Webster, Austin Chronicle

RADIO 5 YEAR BIRTHDAY - feat. CALLIOPE MUSICALS, MAGNA CARDA, SIR WOMAN, RATTLESNAKE MILK

Can you believe it? It's been five whole years since Radio opened at 4204 Manchaca Road. It's been a wild ride! I remember we were going to open on June 4th, but instead, my daughter chose to come three weeks early. We delayed a week, and I worked the first couple months with a baby strapped to my chest.

We weren't gonna have music at Radio, except Bluegrass Night, until Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek asked to play an impromptu show before the Kerrville Folk Festival. On June 15th- we are so honored to welcome truly world-class talents Calliope Musicals, Magna Carda, Sir Woman, and Rattlesnake Milk!

We have worked side by side with Veracruz All Natural tacos since Day 1, and we could not have made it this far without them. Remember all the trailers that came and went? Now we have another home run, crowd favorite, finally, in Dee Dee - Northern Thai Street Food!

Yes June 15th, is Radio's 5-year anniversary, but really the day is about you, our friends and guests. We are constantly trying to make Radio better for you, and for all the people that depend it for a great job with a living wage. Come out June 15th to for a day of food, drink, and music!

Happy Hour starts at 4pm (-7pm)

Free outdoor music starts at 5pm

Complimentary birthday pie will be made by Jack Wilson, Greg Wilson, and Sally Wilson (Radio), Philip Speer (Bonohomie), Kelly Duggan (Justine's), Jazz Mills, Callie Speer (Holy Roller), Seth Meeks (Radio) - and will be served at 6pm

Big thanks to Jazz Mills who has been working with me since December on this amazing lineup! ♥ She is an undeniable force of good in this city. If you don't know her, follow her, ask somebody, do it.

Money Chicha is an Austin, Texas based group featuring members of the Grammy-award winning Latin orchestra Grupo Fantasma and its offshoot funk outfit Brownout which performs a fuzzed-out, reverb-drenched and percussion-heavy style of music inspired by the sounds of Peru and Colombia in the 60s and 70s. This style of music, sometimes called “chicha” music, is known for its infectious Latin beat, its psychedelic, surf guitar pyrotechnics and its melodies influenced by the indigenous culture of the Andes mountains.

SHANE COOLEY & the MIDNIGHT GIRLS // THE REELING KIND

"The story goes like this – KUTX Eklektikos host John Aielli himself admitted he fell in love with the music of Shane Cooley one summer when he heard his music at a local coffee shop. Aielli was captivated. “I’ve worked in radio since 1963, and over the years I’ve learned to recognize talent,” he said recently. “There was something in his sound that made me want to listen…” There’s proof positive to this testimonial with Cooley’s release of Kings Highway, an album rich in roots, Americana, a bit of rock and eclectic touches of pop."

THE JOE JACKSONS // BLOOD PUMPS

THE JOE JACKSONS are a rock 'n' roll band from Austin, TX featuring former Weary Boys front man Mario Matteoli and local top guns Rob Bacak (Crooks) and Zac Bryant (Sounds del Mar). Together they mix Stooges-era sleaze with early 80's punk and a little Seattle grunge for good measure. Hold on to your faces, lest they melt right off.

BLOOD PUMPS just put out their very first EP America & Burgers, but singer/bassist Bill Stevenson, guitarists Mike Brinley and Joe Lewis, and drummer Jordan Cook have quite a bit of experience playing together. Together, they form the rhythym section of Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears. While they may share members of the same band, Blood Pumps is fully the brainchild of singer, Stevenson.
